Darnell

Little has been mentioned on TV of 27-year-old songwriter, Darnell Swallow's, gangster past - Oh I wonder why? And nothing has been mentioned of his heart to heart with housemates of how humiliated he feels when his prison shame will come out in the press to those who do not know about it.

Darnell told everyone he had served time but gave no reason, the press have now all revealed he is a convicted drug dealer and the time served was for violating his probation for a previous conviction. All of this happened two years ago and Darnell has been trying to piece his life back together after his green card was removed and he had to return to the country of his origin.

Darnell was born in Ipswich (someone had to be) and raised in St Louis, Missouri, and was living in North Dakota in 2004 when he was arrested. Police raided his home and found a stash of marijuana ready for selling and he was convicted of drug dealing and sentenced to 120 hours of community service. It was two years after this that Darnell was found to have violated his probation and was jailed.

He told the BB producers two weeks before going into the house saying he was, "caught up in gang culture".

Darnell now spends a lot of time mentoring youth groups in North London and he is trying to rebuild his life. Alex's big mouth alleged it was Darnell who brought up about gang groups in Tottenham in that fateful conversation of hers, dragging him into his murky past with him even knowing it. Who is the real Darnell Swallow?

From what I am seeing he seems a man who is easily led and finds it hard to lead - Likely to be a big reason why he got himself into the mess he was in back in his former life. I adored his impression of a gay Dennis (with the American accent). I admit I thought Dennis doing Darnell was a piss take because he was darker than Darnell? - Was that supposed to be that way? I respect that Darnell is genetically a black man and therefore was Dennis being what Darnell truly is rather what we see? Or was it just the way it was? Oh it is too late for me to think about this.

I didn't like Darnell when Alex was in the house. He seemed to side with her too much, maybe because she reminds him of the people he likes to hang about with? He has come out of himself since she has left, being more playful and comedic and I would like to see more of this. There are too many ALPHA MALES and Darnell it has been said is considered one of them - No way! He was forced into this position by BB with the musical instruments and that is hardly his fault. Tangio wound him up however Tangio and his orange She woman winds everyone up.

Yes I'm warming to the Yank who I did not like at all to start with so he had a very cold start to begin from. Let's see where he can get from this shocking hill start.........Hopefully not backwards. He gets on with everyone and could go all the way? ......Couldn't he?
